The 28sqm domes have a full ensuite, so you will be glamping in style. Each dome includes a comfy king size bed with quality cotton sheets, quilts, and soft furnishings. Our interiors reflect our desire to add, not detract from our beautiful natural surroundings. Lanterns, cushions, and throws help create a nest that will keep you cosy and comfortable. Each dome has central floor heating/cooling, electric blankets and an outdoor fire pit. Your stay includes a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival and a free wine tasting.
In the Swinging Gate Vineyard, 103 Glendale Road, Sidmouth. We are located up the Tamar River, 25 minutes from Launceston, in the heart of the premium wine-growing region. Shops and other amenities are only 10 minutes away at either Beaconsfield or Exeter. The vineyard is located only 5 mins from the Batman Bridge and the Tamar River close to the many local attractions.
The Cellar Door is generally open between 10am and 5pm (contact Cellar Door for seasonal timing). We are open everyday except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Yes, Gift Vouchers are available online on the Gifts page. Our vouchers will be sent out electronically. Generally within 48hrs of purchase. If you would like one posted, please let us know in the notes and provide the postal address. Get in early. Last day for posting vouchers is 16 December. Orders of gift vouchers after this date can not be guaranteed before Christmas.

As a working vineyard the vineyard is not suitable for pet. Dogs are welcome to visit the Cellar Door but are not permitted to stay.
Our domes are designed for couples. On request there is a single fold-out camp bed for a third person for an extra $60 per adult and $40 per child.
You will be staying in a working vineyard and cellar door, so at times there may be people working in the vines. Doug, Corrie, Hannah and the team will be available throughout the day at the Cellar Door. Your privacy is assured, so you can choose how social you want to be. But you will have direct access to your private dome when the cellar door is unattended. Other staff are contactable 24/7 for emergencies only, numbers will be provided on arrival. The domes are situated over 50m apart, so while the dome decks are open to capture the vines and view, you still have plenty of privacy.

There are no cooking facilities in the domes. Your Dome comes complete with a mini-bar fridge, plunger coffee and tea, crockery, and a toaster. (There is a wonderful bakery and an IGA in Exeter). In the mini-bar you will also find a complimentary selection of Tasmanian cheeses for your enjoyment.

Children are welcome to stay on request, but our domes are designed with couples in mind. A baby can stay in a portacot of which we can supply for an extra $30 but we have no other facilities on our working vineyard to entertain and keep safe small children.
Yes there is a parking bay at each dome. Your Dome is accessible via a gravel road. Please note that at times after heavy rain the road may be a little rough or boggy. There is plenty of parking in the Cellar Door car park and it is only a short stroll down to your accommodation.
Please note that WiFi is not available in your accommodation, but is fully accessible at the cellar door, where you are more than welcome to sit and email all your friends about the amazing place you are staying.
